Snickerdoodles

• 1 cup butter, softened
• 1½ cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2¾ cups flour
• 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
• 1 teaspoon soda
• ½ teaspoon salt

Mix butter, sugar and eggs together thoroughly. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for 7-9 minutes.
