Dilly Bread


1 package dry yeast
¼ cup warm water
1 cup cottage cheese
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoons minced onion
1 tablespoon butter
2 teapoons dill seed
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 unbeaten egg
2¼ to 2½ cups flour

Soften yeast in warm water. Heat cottage cheese, then add sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, soda, egg and yeast. Add flour to form stiff dough, beating well. Cover and let rise in warm place until light and doubled in size (50-60 minutes). Stir down dough. Turn into well-greased loaf pan,

Let rise 30-40 minutes. Bake at 350° for 40-50 minutes until golden brown. Brush with soft butter.
